Oh my goodness you guys I have almost been in Thailand for a month! It is crazy how fast time has flown since we’ve arrived. I know I haven’t really updated you guys on life on the field so here is a little overview of what life has looked like since arriving in Thailand.

This month my team and I got assigned serve team as our ministry. This means we stay at our hostel and do whatever needs to get done as well as having the pleasure to make our entire squad breakfast. On Sundays, my team and I go to a monastery and teach English to a ton of kids who give us a run for our money. After my first week I was feeling a little discouraged because prior to launch, I felt the Lord was really preparing my heart to get down and dirty in manual labour while building relationships with our community. So, I made a call to my mom who changed not only my perspective but also my entire teams. Like the whiny teenager I am, I began to tell her how I am having a difficult time because I feel like I am not doing much and thought I would have these amazing stories to tell the people who are following my story. She then stopped me in the middle of my venting and reminded me of the story of Mary and Martha. In this passage of the Bible, Jesus comes to visit the ladies at their house. Like every busy woman, Martha began to clean and cook and serve Jesus the best she could while Mary simply sat at the feet of Jesus. When Martha asked why she is not serving Jesus he turned to her and said this is exactly where she needs to be, serving me at my feet. I feel like this month we are being asked to sit at the feet of Jesus while he prepares us for something great to come. On the flip side of this, our living situation has been such a blessing. We arrived at where we would stay on that first night to beds, running water, showers, toilets, air conditioning and best of all a coffee shop right beneath us. We have such a good father and he has been showing me that every single day. Every morning I get to wake up, go to the roof, and overlook a city that needs so much love. I thank the lord so much for allowing me to love on his Thai people.

Despite already been on the field I am still $5,518 short of being fully funded and my last deadline is approaching so quickly. While on the plane to Thailand I was worrying amount money and how I am going to be able to stay on the race so while I was journaling I asked the Lord what he wants me to do next with money. The only words I could hear is be still and trust in me. So this last half of fundraising I am giving it to the lord and trusting in him. If you are feeling led to donate or simply want to know more about what I am doing and why, please don’t hesitate to contact me, I would love to share. Thank you so much for everyone who has donated, prayed for my team and I, kept my family in your heart, or is following my journey. Please keep my squad in your prayers as we are about to change ministries and debrief our first month

With much love…

-Hannah

  1. Such an incredible blessing to see Jesus moving through your life and seeing you completely surrender to Him more and more every day. You are loved and greatly greatly missed but we are incredibly proud of you. Never feel alone Because you have an entire support team back home lifting you up each and every day in prayer.

  2. Hi Hannah, hey I just got my meniscus surgery done this morning so don’t hold me to anything I say now but I do know this. Jesus served. You serve. Whether you’re making breakfast or coffee for someone, or praying or studying with someone it is all to be done for the glory of the Lord for His plans and purposes. I do believe you are being prepared for whatever is coming next. I’ve been mostly praying for you to be in the Word so take this time now to read and know Jesus more and more. Love you
