As my senior year is coming to a close, I have been faced with the well know question of “what will I do in the future?”. In the past, I have always responded with “go to college and maybe become a teacher or a nurse”, but the truth is I had no idea. Throughout my four years of high school, I had been so focused on figuring out what my plan was that I forgot to ask myself what is God’s plan is for me. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11.
As many of you know my brother Cristian is currently studying abroad in Ecuador and we talk everyday. One day he asked me if I really wanted to go to college. I began to think and something in my heart was telling me that there is a greater plan for me in the next year. I began to do some research on gap year programs and came across World Race. I watched the promotional video and was completely in tears because I truly felt this program was made for me. So I applied and then began the wait. After weeks of prayer and many nervous nights I finally got the call while I was in class. I had gotten accepted into the program and burst into tears. I remember walking back into class and sitting down and thinking wow this is God’s perfect plan for me. It’s still crazy to think that God has called me to go out into the mission field and love on others and more importantly serve Him.
Thank you to all who have donated to me directly or have bought a t-shirt or bracelets this week to support my efforts. Please keep praying: for my missionary finances, for my heart as I prepare to love on others, and for my parents as they prepare to send me away into the unknown . With much love…
