So I am going to be real for a bit. This month has been HARD. However the difficulties we are facing in Costa Rica are nowhere near the same as in Asia. When my team and I walk outside to do ministry, it’s almost like we are walking outside in America. We have been so very blessed to live at the AIM base where there is clean water, running toilet, hot showers, an amazing women to cook us dinner, and a WALMART in walking distance. So you can easily say our living situation has been pretty boujiee. But personally my biggest struggle has been finding the purpose the Lord has for me in this country.
In Asia I was struggling a lot physically and financially so relying on the Lord for my strength was a breeze. When you walk down the streets of Asia you can feel the spiritual heaviness everywhere. But now that I am in a country that is easy to go through the motions and live everyday as if it is MY day, I have found myself struggling to find my purpose here in Costa Rica. People here know about Jesus. In the area we live in people are not laying on the streets waiting for conversation. So where is the need? What I have found is that even though people know about Jesus here, they are either dead in their faith or haven’t accepted him for the father he is.
God wants us to keep moving forward as fighters for His kingdom and one of the saddest things to watch is people sit on their faith and do nothing with it. I think as believers it is so important to constantly be asking the Lord what is your purpose in the season that you are currently in. For some it may be discipling at your school, or serving in the church, paying for the persons order behind you in Starbucks, being bold and having that conversation about bringing someone to know Christ , or even smiling at that rotten coworkers and asking how their day is going. The Lord has a purpose for everyone in every season and I think sometimes we forget to put on our kingdom goggles and constantly be searching for that purpose or way to become more on fire for him.
Personally, I have been asking the Lord, ”Why have you brought me personally here and how can you use me to grow your family?”. And as I read through scripture he keeps bringing me back to Matthew 13:31. ”The kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed planted in a field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of garden plants; it grows into a tree, and birds come and make nests in its branches”. No matter how big or how small what that Lord is asking you in the season you are in, it has purpose that is much greater than our understanding.
So I would like to encourage you to pick up and dust off your kingdom goggles and spend time asking the Lord what his purpose for you is. I would also like to ask for some prayer in the current season I am in. Please pray that the Lord keeps using me and revealing the purpose he has for me. Thank you all who have continued to follow my journey and if I can be praying for you in anyway please don’t hesitate to reach out.
With much love…

Hannah,
Love God and love others, and you do that, so press on in doing just that. I’m praying for you daily.
Love you,
Tia Maria
Keep up the good work! You will be blessed!
Wow Hannah I love that the Lord is showing you the mustard seed. It made me think that you are growing where He plants you and that you are a dwelling place of the Lord. You are giving God’s love and peace to those you meet! How beautiful you are!
Nice thoughts as your journey continues— life brings good and easier times and more challenging ones. It’s good to be prepared for all of them and as you said, find purpose regardless. And thigs don’t have to be difficult for God to use you.
